Afbergmond is the great city of Dwarves in the frigid north, surrounded by frozen wastes on all sides, the great city is the northernmost vestige of civilization in Orofel. Despite it’s relative isolation, Afbergmond is a great center of commerce, craft, and trade, due to The Chain having a major annual stopping point in the city.
Afbergmond is surrounded by towering walls of dull grey, barriers of hard stone reenforced with harder steel, keeping out the creatures and the cold. Facing southeast, southwest, and due south are the city’s great gates. The southeast and southwest gates are used to admit and dispatch The Chain respectively. The south gate is used by large caravans and Dwarven war parties. Between each gate are several smaller doorways used for personnel and smaller carts and wagons, each heavily reenforced and guarded.
Hundreds of plumes of smoke climb into the sky above the city from Afbergmond’s many chimneys, staining the sky above a dark grey. Black soot falls from the sky with the snow, covering the city’s streets with grime.
